Professional Development Portfolio:

Anniah Mupawose
The committee committed to the professional development of our members and the development of the profession of speech-language therapy and audiology. This committee regulates: The South African journal of Communication Disorders (SAJCD), the electronic CPD program, the accreditation of courses for CPD and the academic presentations at ENT congress.


PR and Marketing Committee:

SASLHA PR and Marketing committee is committed to the promotion of the Speech therapy and Audiology professions to the public and providing support to SASLHA members for their own marketing needs.

This committee represents our professions to the medical schemes, and lobbies for better pricing of therapy / testing codes as well as for new codes. They also attend medical scheme meetings to do with professional codes.

The Committee supports and encourages research by clinicians, in clinical areas that are relevant to the SA context. It also supports the development of diagnostic and therapeutic materials that are culturally and linguistically relevant to SA populations.

This portfolio was created to address the needs of Audiologists and Speech therapists working in the public sector. To provide support in ethical practice and professional development as well as with lobbing for the profession in the government sector.




The Zone Representatives shall identify and co-ordinate the activities taking place in their Zone and make representation to the Treasurer at the commencement of the year for an allocation of funds to support these.
  • To promote the aims and objectives of the SASLHA in the Zone and its geographical regions.
  • To identify specific interests, capacity, competence of groups within the Zone.
  • To identify needs and problems within a group or region within the Zone.
  • To support these groups with information and/or access to resources available within the National Council and any of its committees.
