A vacancy exists for a Speech and Language Therapist (20 hours per week) at the Rehabilitation Unit at Life Riverfield Lodge, in the Fourways area. The successful candidate will contribute to effective functioning and co-ordination of the therapy department and will report to the Therapy Manager, Ida Geldenhuys.
Critical Outputs
- Evaluation, programme planning and treatment of all allocated patients.
- Participation in patient group therapy
- Education of patients and families about the patient’s condition.
- Setting of common goals with their patients and team.
- Maintenance of clinical documentation.
- Participation in weekly team meetings and family meetings.
- Active participation in CPD events and other marketing initiatives.
The minimum requirement for this position is a degree in Speech and Langauge Therapy, with registration at HPCSA. Further training and/or experience in the field of Adult rehabilitation, Dysphasia and Vital Stim would be an advantage. This is an opportunity for excellent experience in adult rehabilitation in a multidisciplinary environment, as well as involvement in an active CPD programme.
