Procedure:

 

 

• All activities are based on articles from the current literature. The theme for this year is Evidence-based Practice .
• In order to facilitate learning, readings are circulated in advance by the leader of the group. You must indicate your intention to attend the group at least one week before the activity and the articles will be emailed to you. We regret that we will be unable to provide you with hard copies at the meeting.




 

Venues:

 

 

• Audiology Journal Club meets in the Staff Common Room, E Floor, Outpatients Building, Groote Schuur Hospital.
• Special Interest Groups will meet at the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders, F45 Stoep, Old Main Building, Groote Schuur Hospital.
• Parking: Please allow time to park on P3 parking deck (cost approximately R5 per hour) and to sign in at the entrance to the Outpatients/ Old Main Building, respectively. Please be aware that security staff may ask to inspect your bags on the way out of the building. Should you wish to enter the building with your laptop then it must be checked in and out of the building.
• Light refreshments are served at the meetings.




 

CPD accreditation :

 

• All activities are CPD accredited and certificates will be issued at the end of each activity.
• Certificates will only be issued against the HPCSA registration number, so please ensure you have this with you.
• Attendance registers and feedback evaluation forms are completed at each activity.




 

Cost:

 

• Clinical educators' SIGs are free of charge to clinical educators are associated with UCT.

• All other Special Interest and Journal Club meetings are R40 per session. Please pay at each session.
