Guidelines
Dear Members
There is a process taking place to standardize procedures for some professional functions and activities. SASLHA has been in contact with the South African Association of Audiologists; our chairperson also met with Prof Shajila Singh of the Professional Board for Speech, Language and Hearing Professions of the HPCSA. We propose that a collaborative approach between the associations should be followed and that all guidelines, whether they be for audiology, speech therapy or of a more general application, should be prepared together by the associations’ relevant committees, for subsequent circulation and comment. The documents that were on the website are now receiving the attention of the Ethics and Standards committees of both associations. Comments that have been received will be integrated into revisions and forwarded to the HPCSA, as requested. We thank you for your participation in this important collaboration. Ethics and Standards Committee, SASLHA
